This Privacy Policy applies to the Claude Usage Tracker Chrome extension. The extension is designed to help users track their usage limits, session consumption, and remaining messages on Claude.ai.

The extension primarily accesses user activity and website content directly on Claude.ai to display usage analytics and limit information. This includes:

  • Claude page content and usage banners from the UI.
  • Claude network traffic (via fetch/XHR interception) and parsed SSE / JSON response bodies for quota and usage metadata.

3. How Data is Used

The accessed data is used strictly to provide the stated functionality of the extension: tracking usage limits, session consumption, reset times, remaining messages, quota info, usage percentages, and peak/off-peak status. The extension only uses data needed to provide this stated functionality.

4. What is Stored Locally

The extension stores settings and usage-related state locally in your browser's storage. This data is kept securely on your device and is not transmitted to external servers by the extension.

5. Data Sharing and Transfer

The extension does not sell user data. We do not share, sell, or transfer your data to third parties. The extension does not use data for advertising or credit decisions.

6. Permissions Explanation

The extension requires the following permissions to function:

  • storage: Used to save your user settings and usage analytics locally on your device.
  • notifications & alarms: Used to alert you about your usage limits or reset times.
  • activeTab & host permission (claude.ai): Required to read Claude.ai page content and network requests to determine your current usage.
  • cookies & webRequest: Used to properly intercept and parse the necessary network traffic for quota and usage metadata on Claude.ai.

7. Data Retention

Usage data and settings are retained locally in your browser until you choose to clear your browser data or uninstall the extension.

8. Security

Your data is secured by the local storage mechanisms provided by your web browser. Since the extension operates entirely locally and does not transmit your data to remote servers, the security of the data depends on the security of your device and browser.

9. User Controls and Deletion

You have full control over your data. You can delete all stored settings and usage history at any time by clearing the extension's local storage via your browser settings or by uninstalling the extension.

10. Scope of Policy

This policy applies only to the Claude Usage Tracker extension and its related page functionality. It does not apply to the Claude.ai service itself, which is governed by Anthropic's privacy policy.
